When you’re supporting millions of displaced people worldwide, it’s easy to overlook your own career journey. UNHCR’s Global Learning and Development Centre wanted to change that — helping staff everywhere take ownership of their development in a fast-changing world of work.

Solution delivered:

UNHCR invited Antoinette to deliver a keynote and interactive masterclass that sparked meaningful conversations across their global workforce.

  • Keynote: The New Rules of Career Growth – exploring the changing world of work, futureproofing careers, and encouraging employees to take ownership of their development.
  • Interactive masterclass: The Power is in the Question: How to Engage, Retain and Develop Your Employees through Quality Career Conversations – supported with Antoinette’s Career Conversation Toolkit and Manager’s Guide to Career Conversations.

Outcomes/results:

  • Participants described the sessions as clear, high quality, engaging, and inspiring.
  • The keynote and workshop helped staff rethink career development, shifting from traditional “career ladders” to more flexible, skills-focused approaches.
  • Managers gained practical tools to support meaningful career conversations, fostering employee growth and retention.

Together, UNHCR and Antoinette proved that with the right tools and mindset, even the most global and complex organisations can make career development personal again.
