Client challenge/opportunity:

At the International Committee of the Red Cross, employees dedicate their careers to helping others. But ICRC also wanted to help them, by giving every manager and employee the tools and confidence to grow their own careers.

Managers and employees wanted to feel more confident about holding meaningful career conversations. Internal feedback revealed a need for a mindset shift, encouraging managers and employees to own career development rather than relying solely on HR.

Solution delivered:

Antoinette delivered a series of Confident Career Conversations Masterclasses for managers and Career Compass Masterclasses for employees. Through interactive, energising sessions – both online and face-to-face – Antoinette equipped managers with tools to support their teams’ growth and inspired employees to take ownership of their own career journeys.

Outcomes/results:

Participants responded well to the masterclasses. One participant shared, ‘It’s the first time I’ve felt truly confident starting a career conversation with my team.’

  • Over 250 colleagues took part across multiple departments, with an average satisfaction score of 8.2/10.
  • 100% of client feedback rated as “very satisfied,” with Antoinette praised for responsiveness, appropriateness of materials, and professionalism.
  • Participants described the sessions as engaging, practical, and confidence-building. They highlighted role play, toolkits and visualization exercises as particularly impactful.
  • Managers reported a significant shift in how they approach career conversations.
