Client challenge/opportunity:
Following the success of the Career Compass Masterclass, NatureScot partnered with Antoinette again, this time to embed career conversations more deeply across the organisation.
NatureScot wanted to nurture a culture where employees take ownership of their careers and managers feel confident supporting them. With limited budgets, they sought a cost-effective way to build these skills at scale.
Solution delivered:
Antoinette led a 12-week blended learning journey, guiding participants through interactive workshops, self-paced study, and live practice, all designed to build skill, confidence, and community.
The 12-week certification programme combined:
- An introductory workshop to set expectations and build community.
- Four live online workshops supported by self-paced modules, videos, reading, and interactive activities.
- 1:1 support from Antoinette to help participants apply learning to their context.
- A final delivery presentation where participants practised facilitating and received expert feedback.
- A certification assessment, requiring each participant to deliver their own Confident Career Conversations Workshop to colleagues and submit a reflective report.
On successful completion, participants became licensed Certified Career Conversations Facilitators, with ongoing access to the AO Facilitator Community, supplementary materials, and discounts on toolkits and workbooks.
Outcomes/results:
The results were tangible. Participants left not only more confident but excited to share what they’d learned with others.
- High engagement: Participants valued the interactive sessions, practice opportunities, and practical models. Many cited the live practice as the most beneficial part of their learning.
- Capability building: Staff reported increased confidence in holding and facilitating career conversations, with comments highlighting the power of reflection, ownership, and solution-focused coaching.
- Scalability: NatureScot now has a cohort of internal certified facilitators equipped to deliver Confident Career Conversations Workshops across the organisation, embedding capability cost-effectively. This new network of certified facilitators is helping to embed career conversations into the fabric of NatureScot’s culture.
- Positive feedback: The programme achieved an overall satisfaction rate of 8.7. Participants praised the quality of facilitation, clarity of materials, and practical application to their roles.
