Mentoring is one of the most powerful tools for developing others. Mentees have found that mentoring has:
It’s not just mentees that benefit. Learning and practising mentoring skills makes mentors better leaders, communicators and human beings. And that translates through to benefits for the organisation.
But sharing your knowledge and experience in a way that motivates and empowers can be a challenge.
How do you structure the conversation?
What questions should you ask?
How do you motivate and empower others to take ownership for their own development?
Hi, I’m Antoinette. I created the Mentoring Toolkit to address the above challenges.
The Mentoring Toolkit is a set of practical card-based tools, for mentors, managers and leaders.
It provides you with a flexible approach to motivate and empower others.
The Mentoring Toolkit allows you to:
Encourage your mentee to focus on the areas they can influence so they are empowered to take action
Help your mentee think through what they want to change and develop
Support your mentee to describe their personal vision and goal for development
Inspire your mentee to come up with ideas and solutions on how they might make progress
Guide and share your own experience without telling your mentee what to do
At the heart of any mentoring relationship is a conversation. So, the core mentoring tools and techniques are ones that enable and help conversation. We draw on a range of frameworks, approaches and techniques. The Mentoring Toolkit provides you with a core set of mentoring conversation tools to start with.
Underpinning these tools are three key principles:
The toolkit provides practical conversation tools that empower the mentee and help them identify a way forward. The toolkit also provides a framework that mentors can use to turn a “chat” into a purposeful, valuable discussion.
Click the button below and you’ll be taken to a page where you can purchase your Mentoring Toolkit via Paypal or Credit Card. The Toolkit will be sent out to you by first class post.
